Last night every tuned into the Oscars. They celebrated Get Out and Wakanda and all that jazz. People were happy to be included. I, could care less about moral victories, representation and inclusion, I want ownership and wealth.
Unfortunately, the Oscars have kind of always played a part in the “struggle” for inclusion oriented black folks. A few years back there was the Oscars so white issue and its kind of put the Oscars on the forefront of black acceptance. Since then I guess the Oscars folks have been guilted into showing love, similar to the Grammy’s.
Film industry = Jews, not white folks
What I find interesting is that the Oscars is a celebration of the film industry. An industry that was actually created by Jews who chose to build their own as opposed to fighting for inclusion into white America. If you look at most of the major film companies all or most of them (roughly 96%) are Jewish owned or controlled. Yet black america treats the fight against the film and other media companies as a fight for against white people. In reality its all just business. Dollars and cents.
Here is a list I found of all the Jewish owned or controlled media/film companies: News Corp. President Peter Chernin (Jewish), Paramount Pictures Chairman Brad Grey (Jewish), Walt Disney Co. Chief Executive Robert Iger (Jewish), Sony Pictures Chairman Michael Lynton (surprise, Dutch Jew), Warner Bros. Chairman Barry Meyer (Jewish), CBS Corp. Chief Executive Leslie Moonves (so Jewish his great uncle was the first prime minister of Israel), MGM Chairman Harry Sloan (Jewish) and NBC Universal Chief Executive Jeff Zucker (mega-Jewish).
What stands out to me about this industry is that by creating their own lane the Jews were able to create massive wealth and assimilate into mainstream America. The key is that they assimilated and created. It is unique to see. Jews and other immigrants come to america and change their name so that they can fit it. They don’t stand out and off to the side and complain about not being included.
Why study Jews
I study the Jews because they have had a similar experience in America. They were hated, kept out, kept down, but their response was completely different. They focused on accumulating resources as opposed to accumulating material items. They focused on education in the right areas not education in the easy areas. They focused on business ownership and creating their own, not begging to be included in what someone else owns.
I will never forget the book Snowball where Ben Graham refused to hire Warren Buffet at first because Ben was a Jew and he only hired Jews. He said Warren Buffet could get a job anywhere but his Jewish brothers couldn’t. How many of us are turning down Warren Buffet? I can hear it now “why would I turn down Warren he great”.. This unwillingness to be loyal to our own has us losing. Its not just in isolated incidents. It becomes wide practice. Where we will choose Nike over Big Baller Brand etc.
Back to the Oscars
I bring up the Oscars situation because its ironic that people who haven’t built anything are begging to be included and claiming racism when the people who own the industry aren’t even white. That is the first point. The second, is that the reason why we are still begging to be included is because our strategy to not being included is begging. At some point in time you have to flip the game.
This isn’t the only industry where Jews have built their own as opposed to begging for inclusion. Jews dominate high finance because they built their own as opposed to begging to be hired. Jews dominate law, because they built their own as opposed to begging to be hired. When you build your own the sky is the limit. You can make as much as you want, you can learn as much as you want, you can hire who you want. When you beg for inclusion you learn what they want you to learn, you make what they want you to make you can’t hire anyone. So many people get jobs and can’t even get their child a job. Begging for inclusion is begging to be brought back onto the plantation.
Use that hate as fuel.
I saw a quote on twitter about how Black Panther’s suit is a metaphor for being a black man in America. Spoiler alert: his suit absorbed the negative energy and then uses it as power against his enemy. The person said that this is what it means to be a black man in America. While I agree, what is sad is it seemed like the person was more worried about the bad things that happen to us as opposed to the power that we can get from the bad things. I choose to focus on the power.
We have been given a unique gift. The slights, the hate, the closed doors are all fuel and motivation to get to it, to work harder, to become better. Why do you think that black athletes are better than white one? Because they see it as their only way out. The same is true for business and entrepreneurship. We have to take the perspective that those two things are out way out, go all in, and dominate.
Dominate don’t compete
That is why I believe the Jews don’t just get in industries but they dominate them. In order to be accepted you have to be great you can’t get a pass for showing up like other cultures can. This is a good thing not a bad thing (I always choose to find the diamond in every struggle). This allows you to dominate not merely compete. When you dominate in business and not in protest the winnings trickle down in the form of generational wealth not merely another slot in the slave line. The thing is, are we going to compete in the right areas or are we going to compete to see who can complain the loudest?
I believe that if we were to go all in on business there wouldn’t be any other people who can do it better than us. This is because we have to be great and when you have to do something you tend to find ways to make that happen. There is no other group more innovative or resourceful than us. The thing is are we going to use our innovation to create new dance moves and slang or wealth for our heirs.
So, stop complaining, stop whining and build your own. Build your own and I guarantee you that you will not only get respect from your own but other communities will travel far and wide to do business with you. America cares more about whether the cow can produce milk than they care about the color of the cow.
Be great, invest well, build well,
