When it comes to investing there are so many other benefits that are bigger than the cash and return on the cash. Yes, the primary goal is cash but I want to give you all some other reasons to start putting your money into the stock market and investing your money.
Pride of ownership
One of the biggest perks that comes with investing is pride in ownership. This is the pride you get when you frequent the brands you own in your portfolio. If you are going to spend money anyway at least spend money where you are making it. I get this feeling when I make my payment to Netflix or when I purchase Under Armour. The benefit might be small but it’s not a complete loss like what occurs when you don’t have equity in the brands you frequent. Be an owner.
Innovation on your behalf
Another perk is seeing the innovation and competitiveness of the brands that you own that ultimately resort in an increased stock price. This happens when Snapchat releases an update or when Under Armour releases a shoe or one of their athletes wins a championship. As an owner you win when others win. As a consumer you just win when you win. You can’t create wealth if all the money you make is dependent upon your own efforts. Stocks let you tap into the leverage that comes on the backs of others accomplishments.
This quick blog doesn’t have much content but it helps you understand that it is bigger than just the money you have in reserves. To become wealthy you have to participate in the economy as a producer and an owner not just a spectator or consumer. You can do this through stocks and as you get more sophisticated you can start investing in private companies and IPOs. There are tons of opportunities available if you are willing to get off the sidelines. If you would like to work with our club we would love to have you on board.
